On The Road with Rebecca Kilgore

Having been a guest on Terry Gross’s NPR show “Fresh Air” as well as being an admirer of Terry‘s interviewing skills, in 2002 Rebecca decided she would like to share insights from some of the great musicians she had been working with as well as other musicians whom she admired.

With that in mind, we approached Doug Sweet, the then station manager of KMHD radio and proposed doing one season of a show that would be aired on the station weekly.  Doug said yes, and “On The Road With Rebecca Kilgore“ was born.  We had great fun producing the show for KMHD, and, although we were greenhorns to radio broadcasting, (so the sound quality isn’t always the best), Rebecca always had a great rapport with her interviewees, and asked really good questions. We also enlisted veteran jazz journalist, author, and critic, Doug Ramsey to do special related segments on each show.  Here is a link to info on his award-winning arts journal show called Rifftides: Doug Ramsey | Rifftides.

I gained so many great insights while putting these shows together for Rebecca, and I know you will too. And even though we are not offering these to you for free, I think you will agree the wisdom and insights contained in these shows are well worth having.
